This week has been a bit of a doozey for our little household. Kevin came home Tuesday sicker with a flu than I have seen him in a long time and spent the entire night and next day home sick. We had a flock dinner for our church that we were supposed to attend so I headed out that evening with this Mexican Quiche:
It was quite tasty and gluten-free for one of our good friends who was attending.
Kevin started feeling better on Thursday and headed back to work only to return home that evening to find both Noah and I down with it.
We are very fortunate to have such a great employer and Kevin was able to come home mid day on Friday to help take care of me and Noah. My little wiggle worm who never stops moving was full on lounging on the couch across from me watching a movie:
I started feeling better on Saturday and ended up doing too much outside and going into town shopping for farm stuff and put myself back into bed for much of Sunday.
Kevin had been brainstorming up some St. Patty’s day food and had been itching to get out to his grill since the weather has been so nice this week. We settled on a Rueban Burger complete with thick cut corned beef and sauerkraut with spicy Cajun fries.
It was incredibly tasty and we enjoyed having one of our friends over to join us for our first outdoor meal of the year.
Kevin powered through his recovery much easier than I did and has been working non-stop to get our chicken coop finished so we could get the chickens out of the greenhouse.
The added chicken wire on these cages was quite a time consuming project it turns out but after lots of twisting and sore fingers Kevin was finally happy with the end result on Sunday. We are so pleased with how great the pen turned out!
As you can see so are the chickens:
They have been giving themselves much needed dust bathes and scratching everywhere all day long.
And of course Noah has been learning and growing all week. He is so full of life which is a really elegant way of saying he keeps us running from sun up to sun down haha.
That about wraps it up for us this week. We are going full speed this week into a four day work “vacation” weekend to try to knock out painting and flooring our bedroom before the baby arrives.
What have you been up to this week?
