Announcement, Announcement, Announcement!

It’s been a quiet place around the blog these days. If you have been keeping up with us on Facebook you have probably seen my hints as to a big surprise I have in store for you.

I am very excited to announce that we have recently partnered with the leader in blog recipe integration, Ziplist! With sites like Martha Stewart, Simply Recipes, and Steamy Kitchen just to name a few, running their software we are beyond excited to be able to offer this new program to you!

If you frequent other food blogs I am sure that you have seen it popping up in more and more places but maybe, like me, have never taken the time to check it out. Last week I sat down and dug into it and I found  a gold mine!

*Just as a note, we were not paid or perked by Ziplist in anyway to be partnered with them….so all this goodness is pure uncompromising excitement!*

Not only will all of our recipes have a beautiful new formatting appearance but they are also way more accessible to you everywhere you go! Ziplist is a FREE, completely integrated recipe box, shopping list and meal planner all in one that enables you to keep all of your digital recipes in one place. We have been looking for this functionality for years and its FINALLY here!!

They have FREE mobile apps for iPhone and Android that sync instantly with your online account and a new iPad specific app coming out soon…until then using the iPhone app on iPad works great! Their app also works completely offline which is great for those of us with Wi-fi only devices.

You will definitely want to head over there and setup your free account so you can start using it!

Here is a peak at the new functionality. All our recipes are now beautifully styled:

There is a whole new print functionality which you can find located here:

Which produces a beautiful clean printable for you:

And the best for last!

The brand spanking new Ziplist button is located here:

ziplist2

Which will bring you to a pop up screen with the choice to Save to your Recipe Box to use later, or immediately add the ingredients to your Shopping List.

Adding to your Shopping List also saves it to your Recipe Box so you can find it again later so no need to go back and add it manually!

However if you know you have a lot of the items in the recipe on hand I have found it beneficial to Add to Recipe Box and then add to your Shopping List from within their actual website. My reasoning?

They have this awesome functionality called the Pantry List that sorts out the items like so:

It is great to not have to clear items off the list that you already have, although its really easy and fast to do so if you need to. I have a request in to have them add this functionality directly to our site, but until then this is a great feature to utilize through their site!

They also have a Recipe Clipper toolbar button that will allow you to add recipes from ANY site regardless of whether it has Ziplist functionality built in. It’s also integrated with Pinterest which is amazing!

I have found that it works on almost every site I have tried it on, you can also add recipes manually by copy and pasting which is an easy option if something glitches. This also means  you can easily add your own recipes to it if you don’t have a blog! Get the clipper and read more about it here.

Their meal planner is stinking amazing. It’s clean and simple and SO easy to use!

As if all that is not enough they have all the weekly ad items for your area listed, organized and you can add them to your list with a single click.

Oh and you can make multiple grocery lists, multiple grocery stores AND customize the aisles to how you shop for each store.

I could kiss whoever made this program (not really….but you know what I mean!). It’s absolutely life changing. They really nailed it and after having tested dozens of software’s, free and paid, I can tell you that they are going to be a huge force in the recipe world.

The only itsy bitsy thing that I have had trouble with is that occasionally it seems that their server gets bogged down and it runs a bit slower or freezes. This is not too shocking with how rapidly they are growing and I am confident that they will continue to improve on this as they expand.

Overall I am absolutely thrilled with it and have been working like crazy to get it looking all pretty for you so I could show it off! I hope you are as excited as I am about this and will take some time to start using it soon!
