Coffee Sugar Scrub. This easy DIY body scrub is perfect for exfoliating and it makes you smell like coffee! Perfect to whip up for last minute gifts.

I didn’t used to have a love affair with coffee….I actually hated the stuff. But what I did always love was every coffee shop I had ever walked into. That moment you walk in and are bombarded with the smell of coffee. Reminiscent of cloves, wood, leather; a sweet, earthy, slow perked perfection.

The clamp!-clamp! every time the barista tamps down the espresso shots. Soon followed by the sputtering of hot frothed milk. The chime of the bell on the door, announcing the new arrivals. A quiet rumble of voices from individuals of every walk of life, some lingering and others on mad dashes to their next destination.

Wafts of fresh baked cinnamon rolls covered in brown sugar glaze, croissants filled with layer upon layer of light puffs. Yeasty, sweet, loaves of bread for sandwiches later in the day.

These smells. They ground me to earth. Tell me I’m home in my beloved pacific northwest again. Taunt me to linger just a bit longer than I thought I would.

And while I can’t do that every day, I can pretend. I can breathe deeply and soak in the smells and ground myself each morning. And I can bottle all that up in a little jar and hand it to someone who really needs it today too.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup coffee grounds
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3-5 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  • 1. Combine all ingredients. I prefer ample oil as I like the moisturizing effect it leaves. If you find it to be too oily you can reduce the amount of oil as desired. It should lightly hold together when you squeeze it.
    2. Place in an airtight container.

    • You can use either but I normally just use fresh if I’m gifting it so it’s dry. But I definitely save my used grounds and mix them up when I need a scrub down for myself!
