It’s been a month sweet friends. A month of moving and settling in slowly. A month of painting and cleaning and hanging pictures just to get them out of the reach of the 20 sweet sticky fingers that threaten to bring them crashing to the floor. We’ve come so far already it’s hard to realize it’s only been a month. I painted the whole house (well almost the whole house….the boys room still needs some love) in a delicious creamy white color called Vintage Linen from Behr. It was actually one of the sample colors we had put on the exterior of the house as a trim option. I briefly considered Edgecomb Gray since John and Sherry gushed over how much they loved its milky tan like color in their foyer. But you can see it on the top right photo in the collage below that it was much more gray then the linen color beneath it.
Kevin requested that I spare him from living in a house of “cool” colors and for reflecting light to help our photographing purposes I felt that the linen color was the better choice. It was not without my normal hesitation and hemming and hawing though so I was so relieved when the first rooms were finished and I loved them. As far as the actual move it’s been a different kind of move than most. With our belongings spread between our respective parents home and storage buildings and no garage or storage space to speak of we’ve been bringing things in a small load at a time, unpacking those and then returning for more a few nights later.

Beautiful sunset during our Home Depot run. We still have lots of painting to do but we are staying at the new house for the first night!
I’m in love with this little space that we are making our own, though its left me little time to think clearly enough to get words out of my head and into this space for you. I hope you are following us on Instagram and if you aren’t please won’t you join us there? It’s the extent of what I have been able to manage lately and I’d love to see your faces in that little corner so we can connect.
Here is a little overview of some of what’s been happening over there the last month…and a few photos of some recipes I have waiting in the que for here…oh and kind of an announcement? cool.
Chimichurri Sauce aka the best thing you’ve ever put in your mouth or smeared on your grilled cheese.

Just in case you’ve ever wondered if a Chimichurri Prosciutto grilled cheese sandwich was a good idea I sacrificed myself today for your sake. I’m so selfless sometimes…
I got a new bike. It’s beautiful. She’s a she and she needs a name. Suggestions are welcome. I get respectful nods of approval from all the old people when I bike around town. One old guy even air fist bumped me today. Apparently they love her too.

One house that is within 2 miles of everything+one blown up car= an easy decision to add a $90 vintage schwinn bike to our family. Isn’t she beautiful? I’m in love!
The Famous Strawberry Rhubarb Pie.
I’ve been making Kevin’s mom pie since we were dating and it’s his favorite thing ever. Finally will be gracing the blog. Gulp.

It’s taken a few weeks to sink in but in just a few weeks time I will be jumping on a plane to go see @toddporter and @dianecu from White On Rice for an amazing weekend food photography course. I can hardly stand the anticipation! Someone pinch me! Check out their work here: http://tdphotographers.com
I can’t even deal with how awesome these two folks are. It truly hasn’t even sunk in that this is happening in like two weeks. Ahhhh!

Painting is mostly done. Moving is craaaazzay messy business. Someone bring coffee and chocolate stat.

Whole wheat blackberry pie ready for the oven. It\’s whole wheat so I\’m totally eating it for breakfast. #perfectlogictome
I’ve recently rediscovered my lost love of libraries. There is something about these public places that feeds my inner nerdiness like nothing else compares. I’ve been bringing home stacks and stacks of cookbooks each week….and a few workout DVD’s to balance it all out of course.
Because let’s be honest… I work out so I can eat full cream and real butter and cupcakes when I want ’em. Tweet that baby.
Oh and posset. So I can eat posset. Which will also be coming to the blog soon because its bloody fantastic and it’s craaaazay easy. Which is 100% awesome in my books. Plus lavender in a dessert? It was epic. Check out What A Girl Eats recipe which was my inspiration.

You know your father-in-law loves ya when he stuffs a 5 foot long marble table into his Mini Cooper and drives it home from halfway across the state. This will be the top to our new kitchen island. Eeeee!!
Not only does this go down as the best dad in law award eva but I found this table for TWENTY BUCKS. That’s something to drink to. Plus I have the cutest babies in the whole world.
And this little buffet fit the countertop PERFECT! It will be bringing some desperately needed kitchen storage (because I have precisely 5 million pots, pans, bowls, spoons, and random food blogger paraphernalia) and room to chop, knead and make pastries til the cows come home. Which hopefully will be quite a long time because I don’t have room for a cow. Though I really want one. A milk cow precisely. A pretty brown jersey milk cow if we want to get crazy specific.
Also? TV baby. Huh?
Coming soon to a kitchen near you I’ll be broadcasting my face into your very living room where we can cook and laugh together via our YouTube channel and whatever other places decide I should come make “appearances” on.
So logically I needed an awesome countertop to show ya stuff on. And a haircut. But I’ll work on that part myself deal?
In all seriousness though it’s definitely in the works to be putting together some on screen time which makes me giddy and want to lose my lunch all at the same time. For reals.
Hello yogurt carton cupcakes. Heavenly.

New tires and a tune up and this beauty is ready to ride. A beautiful family, a pretty bike, a house of our own and so much possibility in the future. Sometimes I can\’t believe this is my life. #blessed
Blueberry Pie. You’re fantastic. I love pie.
And blackberry liquor for Christmas presents (maybe. I may drink it all way before then)
Spicy Angelhair Pasta with Mussels
That’s a wrap for today. Come visit us on Instagram for all the latest happenings and subscribe to our email list so you know when I actually post recipes to all these delicious things!

Love your house, love your bike, but love you most! Miss you. And to think we lived “across” the street from each other. I think your lovely bike could be Stella or Ruby. I bet you make her look GOOD.
I’ve been super busy around the house, painting (furniture), creating, organizing and juggling the 5 cuties I called my kids.
Love to stop in and catch up…not near as good as a cup of tea in your kitchen or mine, but a GREAT alternative.
Love you friend!!! Your note made my morning 🙂 Hugs xoxo.
Ohh I love this awesomely yummy, busy ,warm and full of love and laughter life of yours <3 think it's time for pie 😉
Awe, looks like you’ve had such a busy month, love the pictures and the update 🙂
Thanks dear! It’s been a good one 🙂
Your little ones are adorable – congrats on a wonderful painting job and on that Chimichurri Sauce – eating it with a grilled cheese is BRILLIANT!
Moving is surely a messy event! Can't wait to see the new kitchen once you've got it all together. Love the pics of your littles, they're adorable! I think it is great that you make your husband's favorite pie from his mom's recipe–family traditions and recipes are the best, aren't they?
Thanks so much Dani! I can't wait to see your version! It sounds terrific! Cynthia
