Chai Tea Recipe

A lovely spiced black tea with milk, perfect for a cool morning. Also excellent over ice.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 inch piece ginger sliced
  • 8 cardamom pods
  • 8 black peppercorns
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1 tb sugar
  • 2 black tea bags
  • 1/2-1 cup half and half

Instructions

  • Bring water with spices, honey and sugar to a boil, whisk to incorporate spices and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  • Add tea bags and remove from heat. Strain.
  • Add half and half or alternative dairy and warm.
  • If desired froth milk and top cups with frothed milk and a dusting of cinnamon.
