We needed something to spice up our taco nights, so we invited a friend over to help me figure out this delightful blend of Jerk seasoning. Creating these delicous Jerk shrimp tacos.

Freshly made pineapple salsa is heavenly with crispy light tortilla chips. You never regret making this fresh pineapple salsa and you can almost never get enough! Topping these fantastic jerk shrimp tacos with a large helping of fresh pineapple salsa.

What is Jerk seasoning?

Caribbean or Jamaican Jerk seasoning gets its kick from a blend of ingredients such as chiles, cloves, scallions, brown sugar, ginger, salt, thyme, cinnamon, garlic, and nutmeg. Perfect for these Jerk shrimp tacos.

How to use Jerk seasoning?

Sprinkle or rub it on chicken, beef, seafood or vegetables and heat in a pan to increase the flavor. Marinda over nigh for maximum flavor.

How to Make Jerk Shrimp Tacos?

Mix necessary spices together and use. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 months.

How to Make pineapple salsa?

In a large bowl, combine pineapple, tomatoes, cilantro, red onion, and jalapenos. Add lime juice and toss to coat. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and hot pepper sauce, if using. Allow flavors to blend at room temperature for 30 minutes, or chill until serving time. Serve with tortilla chips or add it to Jerk shrimp tacos.

What goes with pineapple salsa?

Baked or grilled chicken, fish or pork before or after cooking. Can be added it to seafood tacos. Mix it into a Mexican or tropical rice bowls.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shrimp
  • 1 tbs butter
  • 4 tsp jerk seasoning
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • Sweet Chili Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbs sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbs soy sauce
  • Juice of ½ a lime

Jerk Seasoning

  • 1 tbs garlic powder
  • 2 tsp red pepper
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tsp dried parsley
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp cardamom

Pineapple salsa

  • Pineapple, diced
  • Red onion, diced
  • Cilantro, diced
  • Tomatoes, diced
  • Lime Juice

Toppings

  • Chips and salsa
  • Tomato
  • Avocado
  • Cilantro
  • Sour cream
  • Crema
  • Cilantro

Instructions

  • Mix together all Jerk seasoning in an airtight container. Mix together all pineapple salsa ingredients together and chill.
  • Cook Shrimp in a pan with butter 5-10 minutes.
  • Drain liquids from pan.
  • Add seasoning, oil and lime juice to shrimp.
  • Toss and crisp up in a pan with olive oil.
  • Remove from heat and assemble tacos.
