This tropical green energy smoothie has my favorite secret ingredient for that extra perk without the crash! This is my go to coffee detox smoothie when I am coming off caffeine.

Let’s talk about green smoothies. Not only do you get to pack in a ridiculous amount of greens but it’s basically liquid nutrition. Fast, easy and no strain on your tummy to digest so your body can spend all that energy on more fun things. Like chasing your kids, or working, or playing, or anything other than digesting all of that huge egg and bacon breakfast that you immediately regret eating.

We have been having so much fun working in the new studio space this past week and having our green smoothie every morning has been a total requirement. I came off of coffee last week (uhhh) and was clean for like 5 days. Then major photo shoot this weekend here had me crawling back apologizing for leaving it to it’s lonesome self in my pantry.
This energy smoothie helps me make it through the bulk of the days where I decide that either no coffee or just a single cup is all I get. On super low energy days I add in my favorite secret ingredient….nutritional yeast! It’s packed with protein and b-vitamins that help give me that extra little pep without the crazy crash.
We get a dose of calcium and protein, plus all the creaminess and tang that comes from the Nancy’s whole milk yogurt too! It is our favorite yogurt and I love that buying their regular whole milk yogurt has a much closer mouthfeel to almost being a greek yogurt.
It’s not stick to the rooftop of your mouth like a greek yogurt but like the perfect medium between the two thin regular yogurt and the too thick greek yogurt. Plus they use all kinds of different probiotics that gives it their signature tang. I was heartbroken when we couldn’t find it in Georgia because there really are no other products on the market that taste like Nancy’s does.

Blend it all up on high and you are good to go! If you can get this energy smoothie down before you reach for the coffee you may find (like I often do) that you don’t even need the first cup! Drink this, then fix yourself a cup of my Healthy Chai Tea and you can ease yourself into this less caffeine gig with a little less kicking and screaming.
